On Thanksgiving the heart will find a pathway to home -Wille D. Nesbitt

Check out my painting of the Little Red Lighthouse with a
backdrop of the George Washington Bridge.
It is the busiest bridge in the world.

With 53.4 million people expected to travel this year it will be more like 2019. Air travel is expected to be up 83% more than last year. Although air travel is up, 93% of people expect to travel by car.

Expect the airport and roadway to be a lot more crowded than last year.

Plan ahead and be flexible so that you arrive safe and sound of mind. You can avoid frayed nerves by following these helpful tips from CNN and AAA.

Air travel

  • Fly early in the day.
  • Book non stop flights.
  • Take it slow. Arrive early at the airport.
  • Have snacks in case your flight is delayed.
  • If you’re traveling with children, bring activities to keep them occupied.

Road travelers:

  • Make sure your vehicle is road ready. Check components, like the battery, tires, brakes and check fluid levels.
  • Mornings over the holiday weekend are best for travel.
  • Be prepared for high gas prices. Gas prices are $1.30 more than last year.

If something goes wrong try hard not to let it derail your trip and make you forget what Thanksgiving is all about.
