Labor Day ushers in a season of reflection and gratitude

Visit Maine to enjoy fall foliage and lobster. Go in October to watch whales as they migrate south.

Although Labor Day signals the end of summer vacations there’s no need to put a complete pause on vacations. Fall has it all – lower prices, cooler temperatures, fewer crowds and an explosion of colorful foliage. Fall is one of the cheapest times to vacation during the year.

Fall is also a great time to celebrate. There’s a holiday for everyone. It’s also a time to be more reflective, grateful and make changes before the year winds down.

Vacations are necessary now more than ever. The headlines are constantly bombarding us with catastrophic events. This morning I just read about flooding in Las Vegas. The list goes on; sadly wildfires, hurricanes and more seem to be recurring events.

Vacations are good for physical and mental health. Having “down time” is good for replenishing the brain’s capacity for attention, focus and creativity.
